About

I am a conservation architect and an avid traveller. I’m attracted by the various cultures and historical narratives of old towns and cities around the world. I travel countries, meet people from many cultures, and enjoy centuries-old delicacies. As a heritage professional, I am privileged to work with cultural experts, heritage believers, keepers of our age-old traditions, and incredibly enthusiastic and all-around students.

For many years, I worked with heritage trusts, non-governmental organisations, and other government agencies to protect the cultural heritage of the Global South. Among my initiatives are conservation and management methods for historic sites/towns, urban conservation plans, urban design interventions, and streetscaping. As the lead heritage specialist at the INTACH Delhi Chapter, I also worked for the the President of India’s office and the Secretariat of the Indian Parliament House, Ministry of culture,GOI, State Archaeology and many more.

In addition, I share my experiences through collaborations and partnerships with cultural organisations in the South East Asia, Europe, India, and the United Kingdom to advocate for the preservation of our history. At an international seminar on inclusive cities in Delhi, my work “Rights to the City – Gender and Urban Development” won praise for conceptualising strategies for integrating the expanding requirements of an urban centre within a historic city.

Through this blog, I wish to connect with you and learn more about your favourite historic cities, cultural spaces, intangible forms and more.
